Actually the 133mhz and 166mhz 800CT models support CardBus.
The 100Mhz 800 model does not support CardBus.

Just a comment on the USB adapters - the OB800 has a cardbus slot and the pcmcia USB 2.0 adapters that are common on ebay will work
in them. I was never able to find a pcmcia to usb adapter that would work on the 425/430 models.

Ta Da!!, I revived the OB425's using fresh double AA's overnight. Thank you all for your suggestions. This list, even in its
moribund phase, gets things done. Thank you all.

Hi
The standard technique for radio hams when confronted with an old piece of equipment with valves (tubes) is to use a Variac and
connect it to low voltage for a day or two, then increase the voltage slowly to full value.
This gives old, dry electrolyctic capacitors time to "re-form" - which is analogous to re-charging a battery that has not been used
for some time. The same phenomenon may well be observed in old Omnibooks, if they have any electrolytic capacitors.
While I am writing, I would like to put out a general call for a 16-bit PCMCIA / USB 1.1 adapter. I have searched the net and eBay
for a week but have not been able to find one.
Yours
