   Yes, I have been told there were available, at least for a short time, 16 bit PCMCIA to USB adapters. I suspect they were only USB 1.0 or USB 1.1 compatible. No worries. I rather doubt the early OB's could fully utilize the bandwidth of USB 2.0. I have assiduously scoured the stream of used equiptment here in Seattle for years and not found one. . . . Dunno if they are currently being mannufactured.
   I have also been told the designers of the OB's were enamored of 'accumulators' , which I took to mean to be capacitors, to handle the BIO's functions. It would be nice to get this confirmed. And since capacitors are notoriously idiosyncratic  in their behavior as they age could explain a great deal of some of the acrobatics necessary to revive some of the older OB's.
